About Zen Gems Jewelry:
Zen Gems was founded in 2015 as an online shop for jewelry infused with with love, intention + healing crystals. Nichole Berezowski of Saskatoon, SK, is the creative soul behind each design, inspired by motherhood, yoga, mindfulness, nature and it’s cycles. As part of her journey, she came across mala beads, completely in awe of the magic of these intricate works of energy, symbolically comprised of 108 beads. This creative path flourished, utilizing high vibrational crystals and setting intentions in line with their healing properties, Zen Gems creates a variety of crystal accessories for spiritual purposes, meditation or earthly-inspired style, while staying true to the traditional hand-knotted technique of authentic mala beads. Many agree that what you are energetically drawn to is often exactly what you need in your life at that moment in time. All Zen Gems pieces feature a unique description of the gemstones used, which can guide you to your ideal piece.
Nichole offers many workshops throughout the year focused on intention setting, crystal basics, the chakras, and mala making. Recently completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2019, Nichole has begun incorporating yoga into these events — and you will now see that many of her pieces are inspired by the yoga sutras.
Nichole believes that energy flows where intention goes. A practice of tuning into your awareness, aligning your energy with your intentions, so you can open yourself up to infinite possibility.
Prairie born and raised, I’m married to my soul mate, Kyle -and together, we have two beautiful children, Elsa, and Rowen, who keep us busy and on our toes. Being a mother is absolutely, hands-down, my favorite part in my life journey. These little ones inspire me in so many ways, encouraging me to grow each and every day. I am so grateful to be a stay at home mom, and Zen Gems’ success and all your support is a very large part of that.
Nichole’s yoga journey began in 2006, as an effort to bring more movement and focus into her life. It wasn’t until after her transition to motherhood in 2011 that lead her to a steady practice to reconnect back to her body, and to inspire self growth and stillness. With a passion for intentional setting and energy work, Nichole discovered that yoga moves beyond just physical strength, but also of the mind/body/spirit connection, and cultivating more love in all that you do. Nichole believes that energy flows where intention goes. A practice of tuning into your awareness, learning to quiet the mind, and opening yourself up to infinite possibility.
Nichole’s formal yoga training includes:
- 200 hours of yoga teacher training with Ryan Leier and One Yoga in 2019
- Prenatal intensive with Inner Peace Yoga
- 50 hours of yin yoga training with Bernie Clark in 2020
- Meditation teacher intensive; and 25 hour Spa Yoga Teacher Training (a blend of hatha, restorative, therapeutics) with Carolyn Budgell in 2021
She has a love for the dualistic practices of vinyasa and yin yoga, and is passionate about connecting her practice to the 8-limbed path found within the yoga sutras. You will commonly experience the connection between yoga philosophy and mindfulness weaves into her classes.
Through her experience with personal injury, Nichole has taken on the self study of somatic yoga, and yoga for functional strength. She strives to incorporate creative balance flows for strength and stability, somatic movements to increase bodily awareness, as well as body weight repetition for strength to avoid injury and imbalances.
Nichole believes in the parallels of yoga on and off the mat: cultivating internal stillness, and reflecting this externally.
